Getting Started with Reveal
Reveal is an AI-powered data intelligence platform. This guide walks you through the steps to get up and running — from initial setup to your first data query.
Step 1 — First-time setup (Breakglass Login)
Before SSO is configured, use the built-in Breakglass Login to access Reveal as an emergency administrator.
Navigate to /setup/login in your browser. If this is your first time, you will be prompted to set a password at /setup/init.
The breakglass account has full system access and is intended only for setup and recovery. Once SSO is working, use your regular OAuth account.
Step 2 — Run the Setup Wizard
The Setup Wizard guides you through configuring all the services Reveal depends on across 8 steps:
| Step | What you configure |
|---|---|
| Secrets Source | Where credentials are stored — AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault, GCP Secret Manager, or HashiCorp Vault |
| Identity Provider | SSO via Azure AD, Okta, Google, or any OIDC provider — or a local admin account |
| Azure Resources | Azure OpenAI, AI Search, and Blob Storage |
| AWS S3 Storage | S3 buckets for document storage and the vector bucket for Cloud Storage |
| System Settings | Review and complete any remaining configuration values |
Work through each step in order and click Next to advance. You can return to any step later via Settings → System Config.
Step 3 — Add your first Integration
Go to Integrations in the left navigation and click Add new Integration. Connect to a database, cloud storage bucket, or business application.
See Integrations for the full list of supported providers and connection instructions.
Step 4 — Start chatting with your data
Open Chat and select your new integration from the connection selector. Type a question in plain English — for example:
"What are the top 10 customers by revenue this quarter?"
Reveal generates a response with the answer, a data table, and a chart.
What's next?
Once you are up and running, explore the rest of Reveal's features:
- SQL Query Editor — write and run SQL directly against your connections
- Data Explorer — explore data with an AI-powered search interface
- Research Agent — connect to S3 and query documents and scientific literature with AI
- DocLens — compare contracts and documents side by side
- Prompt Configurations — customise how the AI responds per role and domain
- Sentient Security — scan your infrastructure for security vulnerabilities
If you are the first administrator, start with the Breakglass Login and then the Setup Wizard before inviting other users.
